Hi, I'm Pete Finch and I've been teaching for the past 18 years, both in the classroom and on a one-to-one basis.
I love my subject but am aware that many people find Maths either too difficult or dull. So with that in mind, I always try and create an informal, friendly stress-free environment for my pupils, enabling them to overcome a lack of confidence which can often dramatically improve their grades.
Up-to-date with all the latest exam board approaches, my lessons are meticulously planned and usually tie in with current class room work.
I live near Scarborough and Filey on the Yorkshire Coast. However, all of my lessons are held online, meaning that many of my students come from across the whole of the UK and abroad.
I hold a valid Enhanced DBS certificate and can provide my certificate number on request.
Sessions vary in price depending on what stage in learning your child is at.
Introductory chat
The first session is a free 20 minute video call to determine if you feel that I will be able to provide the kind of help your child needs. If we are all happy, then subsequent paid sessions can be booked at a time that suits you and your child.
Free 20 minutes
Key Stage 3 & GCSE
For pupils in years 7 to 11 or for pupils resiting exams.
As well as strengthening your skills, you will get lots of practice with past exam questions and how to use your calculator to best effect.
£35 Per 55 minutes
A-level
For pupils in years 12 and 13 taking AS or A-Level Maths.
Transition from GCSE to A-level Maths can be difficult, so a big emphasis will be placed on consolidating the higher GCSE material.
